The Slow Light

Hailing from Adelaide, the Slow Light are the brainchild of Australian musician and songwriter Jack Bolingbroke, formed in the late 2010s. The Slow Light soon blossomed into a full band, consisting of Bolingbroke (vocals, guitars, synthesizers), Morris Ewings (bass), Rory Amoy (drums), Tom Pearce (guitars) and Nathan Churches (piano, keyboards), all close friends who've previously played together in an assortment of groups. The quintet takes primary inspiration from the crossover-psychedelia of earlier Porcupine Tree, along with the atmospheric alternative rock of the Pineapple Thief and Riverside, along with a healthy appreciation for classic prog like Pink Floyd, Eloy and Genesis and electronic acts such as Jon Hopkins, Carbon Based Lifeforms and Shpongle.

The Slow Light’s discography has included the 2020 EP ‘Cinema of the Mind’ and LPs ‘Liminal’ and ‘Pillar’s Dust’, released in 2022 and 2024 respectively. Additionally, the band released an improvised EP titled ‘Sessions’ in 2023, which was recorded live and in full at Twin Earth Studio.
