Bear The Mammoth
Bear the Mammoth are an instrumental post‐rock band from Melbourne/Naarm, blending layered guitars, warm synths, and dynamic rhythms with touches of math‐rock precision and prog‐rock ambition. Their first EP, In Absence, arrived in 2012, introducing a sound that sits comfortably alongside influences like Mogwai, sleepmakeswaves, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Rós and Bossk. Since then, they’ve been crafting tunes that open softly, rise with energy, and carry you along for a ride.
Across their releases, the band have developed a thoughtful, detailed approach to songwriting that has resonated with listeners both in Australia and abroad. They’ve shared stages with artists such as Anathema, We Lost The Sea, Jakob, Closure In Moscow, and many others — experiences that have helped shape their evolving sound and presence.
Live, Bear the Mammoth lean into atmosphere and connection: patient builds, tight interplay, and moments that swell until the whole room feels wrapped inside the music. It’s immersive and powerful without losing its sense of warmth.
